How do you pronounce it?

Question Mark 1:

Do you pronounce "ungu" as:
i) Ung-gu or
ii) U-ngu?

If you pronounce it as the former, shouldn't the spelling with double "G" then?
If it is the latter, why are there still people pronounce it as the former?

Question Mark 2:

Do you pronounce "Kleenex" as:
i) Klee-nex or
ii) Lee-nex?

If you pronounce it as the former, shouldn't the "K" be silent? How do you pronounce "knee" and "knife"?
If it is the latter, shouldn't the original word comes from "clean"?


The first question was a debate between my bro and i when we were young. The second question was a debate encountered between my lecturer and i few months back.
